Mary’s Relationship Skills Course is designed to help couples strengthen their relationship and prepare constructively for any future challenges and conflicts. It is run over a ten week period and you meet Mary each week for one-hour sessions in Dorset. The course is informative and fun while avoiding the sometimes testing effects of therapy. Please make it clear that you want this course and not therapy when you contact Mary.
“I would sum up the work we did with Mary as liberating and in some ways a salvation. We can now work together as a couple, secure in the knowledge that we understand that there is no certainty in our life together, but we have more awareness of what is going on in our relationship. I have permission to be me and we can grow together through difficulties instead of feeling threatened by them. We make each day as if it were our last”
Mary’s years of experience working with couples in conflict gives her a unique insight into what makes a relationship work. Couple this with her extensive training in the management of sexual difficulties then this becomes a unique opportunity to have relationship skills course second to none. You will learn skills to enhance communication within your relationship covering tricky areas of conflict, especially sexual ones. Maintaining joy and pleasure in the intimate and sexual area of a relationship can be problematic, especially when children, work, family members or other commitments intrude, Mary will help you find long-term solutions that really work for you and for your partner. In short, Mary will give you a tool-kit that is proven to work.
There is compelling evidence that training of this kind reduces the risk of divorce or separation by up to 30% and will lead to a happier, healthier and stronger union. She knows that a little preparation and knowledge may prevent difficulties further on giving you the skills of having a solution-focused agenda rather than descending into conflict, bickering and arguments. If there is no preparation of this kind, many couples do not have the tools to deal with negative and destructive habits built up over years that are often very difficult to resolve.
Living in our cosmopolitan western society many of us do not have the support network of close family and longstanding friends to turn to for help when we face problems in our lives. This makes us turn to our partner for more support than they may be able to give. Mary shows you how to ask for and get the help you need in a way that is non-confrontational and engages your partner in helping find solutions with you before the issue becomes too big to handle.
Many years ago, as part of Marriage Preparation, the clergy gave sexual information. This has waned in recent years. Many times Mary has heard her clients say “there is no one else I could ask or talk to about this“. Mary maintains a non-judgmental stance and is supportive in her work, so during the course you are encouraged to ask questions you never dared ask elsewhere. Mary is also mindful that the Sex Education in the UK is patchy and has been so for many years. While some are excellent, some are virtually no more than reproductive biology. Mary’s course will redress the balance and give you all the information you need to have a pleasurable and fulfilling sex life, long into your twilight years.
That is not a problem. Many couples want to co-habit and this course will be of equal benefit. Sadly statistics show that more cohabiting couples break up than married ones so there may be an imperative to attending a course of this kind. If you are already married it is never too late to have information and guidance of this nature so take advantage of what Mary is offering and book now.
Invest in your future together. You are already demonstrating the importance of your relationship; you can now go the extra mile and make a commitment to ensure you are prepared to have a life of happiness together.
