Mary Clegg is an accredited Sex and Relationship Psychotherapist with a masters degree in the subject. She has many years experience in delivering high quality workshops and seminar. She is Chair of the British Association of Sexual Educators (www.baseuk.org) and has recently been a senior lecturer and course co-ordinator at Sheffield Medical School delivering the sexual medicine module to Student Doctors.
Mary is an experienced, knowledgeable and stimulating public speaker who can present on a wide variety of topics and she has a relaxed and down to earth style of presentation with a proven track record. Many participants have written to say how much they have enjoyed their CPD day with her and her outcome measures fully demonstrate the aims and objectives of the training event have been achieved. She has conducted masterclass-level training days for couple counsellors, psychosexual therapists, GPs , nursing and disability groups with the approval of the Royal College of Physicians and The College of Sex and Relationship Therapists.

This is aimed at those who do talk about sex but want to help their clients a little more (personal development is a key part of this workshop).
Sexual Medicine for Healthcare Professionals – October 2012, February and April 2013 - Andover
Aimed at Psychosexual Therapists, GPs, nurses, and other allied healthcare professionals. It could also be for those working in psychotherapy with people with sexual difficulties but who find their problems not entirely psychogenically based and need help to engage other healthcare professionals. Diagnostic tools, treatment options and referral routes will be discussed.
Let’s Talk about Sex
Mary is offering a workshop for health professionals wanting to know more about how to work with sexual issues with their clients or patients. It does not matter whether they work one to one or with couples. This workshop includes an opportunity to acquire comfort and confidence broaching the topic of sexuality and how to carry it out in a seamless way. She has developed this course to give all healthcare professionals up to date information on new ways of working, new educational resources and practical applications on dealing with this sensitive issue. Mary is mindful of the modesty of some of her attendees so she has devised a fun learning format with plenty of active participation which takes this into account.
The Client's needs are paramount and it is essential that we are able to give them options and treatment choices whilst being broad based in the assessment. Maintaining a therapeutic alliance is important and the Client and Healthcare Professional need to be clear and consistent on how, when and why to include talking about sexuality. Mary will demonstrate how this can be achieved and give new tools for use in your practice.

Resources to use with sexual difficulties

Mary's course Resources to use with sexual difficulties workshop has been approved by The Royal College of Physicians for 5 hours CPD. This workshop is aimed at Couple Counsellors, psychosexual therapists and allied health professionals. The purpose is to show professionals what educational resources are available and how they can be used in a clinical or therapy situation.
